How to Install WHMCS<\/h1>\n

Downloading WHMCS<\/h2>\n

First, download the current Full Release version of WHMCS:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to\u00a0download.whmcs.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Under\u00a0Full Release<\/strong>, find your desired WHMCS version and click\u00a0Download.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We always recommend the latest version of WHMCS, which is highlighted at the top of the list.<\/p>\n

    Uploading WHMCS to Your Server<\/h2>\n

    Next, install the software to your server.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    To install the software:<\/p>\n

    1. Log in to your cPanel account.<\/p>\n

    2. Go to cPanel’s\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>\u00a0interface (Files >> File Manager<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

    3. Navigate to the\u00a0public_html<\/code>\u00a0directory\u00a0<\/strong>by double-clicking on the folder icon.<\/p>\n

    4. Click\u00a0Upload<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    5. On the next screen, choose\u00a0Select File<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    6. Browse to the\u00a0.zip<\/code>\u00a0file and click\u00a0Select File<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    7. When the\u00a0.zip<\/code>\u00a0file is uploaded, click\u00a0Go Back to “\/home\/username\/public_html”<\/strong>. You will see the newly-uploaded\u00a0.zip<\/code>\u00a0file in the\u00a0public_html<\/code>\u00a0directory.<\/p>\n

    8. Right-click the\u00a0.zip<\/code>\u00a0file and choose\u00a0Extract<\/strong>. The system will prompt you for a destination.<\/p>\n

    9. Choose a destination, and then click\u00a0Extract File(s)<\/strong>. In this example, we’re extracting it to the\u00a0public_html<\/code>\u00a0folder.<\/p>\n

    10. Rename the\u00a0configuration.php.new<\/code>\u00a0file in the folder to\u00a0configuration.php<\/code>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Creating the Database<\/h2>\n

    Next, you will need to create the MySQL\u00ae database to use for the WHMCS installation.<\/p>\n

    To do this:<\/p>\n

    1. In cPanel, go to the\u00a0MySQL Database Wizard<\/strong>\u00a0interface (Databases >> MySQL Database Wizard<\/strong>). This interface will guide you through the process of creating the WHMCS database.<\/p>\n

    2. Use the interface to choose a database name, username, and password, and to set permissions.<\/p>\n

    3. When you reach the\u00a0Privileges<\/strong>\u00a0section, choose\u00a0All Privileges<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Make sure to note the database details, since you will need them later in the process.\u00a0For databases, cPanel uses the cPanel account username, an underscore, and then the database name or username.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    4. In a separate browser tab, go to\u00a0www.example.com\/whmcs\/install\/<\/code>, replacing\u00a0example.com<\/code>\u00a0with your website address.<\/p>\n

    5. Read and click\u00a0Agree<\/strong>\u00a0for the\u00a0End User License Agreement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    6. Follow the instructions in each step of the installation process to provide your database information, license key, and other information.<\/p>\n

    You can find your license key in the Client Area or in your welcome email.<\/p>\n

    7. To finish, click\u00a0Complete Setup<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Make sure to copy and save the daily cron job command (in grey). It’s unique to your server and you will need it later in the process.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    8. When you see the\u00a0Installation Completion<\/strong>\u00a0page, remove the\u00a0\/install<\/code>\u00a0directory from your server. To do this, right-click the\u00a0\/install<\/code>\u00a0folder in cPanel’s\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>\u00a0interface and choose\u00a0Delete.<\/strong><\/p>\n
