How to Change a Client’s Currency in WHMCS<\/h1>\n

WHMCS’s multi-currency system lets clients to choose from one or more currencies. Clients can change their currency at any time.<\/p>\n

In the Admin Area, the best method for changing a client currency is creating a new client with identical information and transferring all of the old client’s invoices, services, and transactions to the new client.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We strongly recommend using this method to change a client’s currency. Do\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0change the currency in the\u00a0Profile<\/strong>\u00a0tab directly for a client with existing invoices or transactions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Change a client’s currency<\/h2>\n

To change a client’s currency:<\/p>\n

1. Go to\u00a0Clients > View\/Search Clients.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. Locate \u00a0and click on the desired client.<\/p>\n

3. Go to the\u00a0Profile<\/strong>\u00a0tab.<\/p>\n

4. Change the\u00a0First Name<\/strong>,\u00a0Last Name<\/strong>, and\u00a0Email Address<\/strong>\u00a0to something unique. For example, append the old currency code to the existing values: \u00a0client@example.comUSD'<\/code><\/p>\n

5. Click Save Changes.<\/p>\n

6. Go to Clients > Add New Client.<\/p>\n

7. Create a new client using the original details from the old client’s Profile tab.<\/p>\n

8. For Currency, select the new desired currency.<\/p>\n

9. For Owner, select Associate with an existing user.<\/p>\n

11. In the\u00a0Owner\u00a0<\/strong>search box, find the user who owns the original client. Typically, this is a user with the same name and email address as in the original client.<\/p>\n

12. Click\u00a0Add Client<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

13. For each of the original client’s domains, perform the steps in\u00a0Moving a Domain to another Client, set\u00a0Recalculate on Save\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0On<\/strong>, and click\u00a0Save Changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

14.\u00a0<\/strong>For each of the original client’s services, perform the steps in\u00a0Moving a Service to another Client, set\u00a0Recalculate on Save\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0On<\/strong>, and click\u00a0Save Changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make certain that you toggle\u00a0Recalculate on Save\u00a0<\/strong>and click\u00a0Save Changes\u00a0<\/strong>for\u00a0every<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0domain and service that you move.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Because they now exist under a new client, the system will generate subsequent invoices for the moved services and domains in the desired new currency. Recalculating the\u00a0Recurring Amount<\/strong>\u00a0value ensures that the system converts the price into the appropriate amount for the new currency.<\/p>\n
