If a directory is protected by this, then if somebody from the front end of your website tries to access the file, they will be prompted to provide a username and password, if username of password does not match, then the user will not be able to see the content of that directory.<\/p>\n<p>To configure a password for a directory, use the following steps \u2212<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Open Directory Privacy Configuration by clicking\u00a0<strong>Directory Privacy<\/strong>\u00a0in the Files Section.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.trustedhosting.in\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/28_directory.png\" alt=\"Directory Privacy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Navigate within your directories to find the directory you want to protect. Use icon on the left hand side to open a directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.trustedhosting.in\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/29_directory1.png\" alt=\"Privacy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"434\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Select the directory you want to protect by clicking on the name of the folder, you will get same configuration as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.trustedhosting.in\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/30_directory2.png\" alt=\"Directory Privacy1\" width=\"1000\" height=\"442\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.trustedhosting.in\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/31_directory3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/manage.trustedhosting.in\/index.php?rp=\/images\/kb\/32_directory4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Select Password protect for this directory checkbox and enter a Label which you wish to display in the frontend, click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0to protect this directory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 To give access to users, you will need to create users. Enter username and password to create a new user, who will have access to this directory from the frontend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Click Save to give access to this user.
