In this chapter, we will learn how to customize themes. Customizing themes help you to give a new look to your website. Here you can change background images\/colors, add titles, and do much more.<\/p>\n

Following are the steps of\u00a0Customize theme<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Step (1)<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 Click on\u00a0Appearance \u2192 Customize<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Step (2)<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 The following screen will be displayed.<\/p>\n

\"WordPress<\/p>\n

As can be seen, on the left side we have the customizing section, and on the right side we have the theme you have chosen. So any changes you make on the left side will be displayed on the right side of the page. Here are a few options you must know \u2212<\/p>\n

Active theme<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 In this section, you can change the current theme just by clicking on\u00a0\u2018Change\u2019<\/span>.<\/p>\n

When you click on\u00a0\u2018Change\u2019<\/span>\u00a0you get a list of themes, click on any of the themes, and then click\u00a0\u2018Save & Continue\u2019<\/span>. Your theme will be saved.<\/p>\n

Site Title & Tagline<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 In this section, you can add the site title and tagline you want to add to your website.<\/p>\n

\"WordPress<\/p>\n

Add your title name in the\u00a0\u2018Site Title\u2019<\/span>\u00a0section. And your tagline in the\u00a0\u2018Tagline\u2019 box<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Colors<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 You can change your header text color using this section. As you scroll through the colors you find changes happening on the right side of your page. You can even add a color of your own into the box that is situated in between\u00a0\u2018Current color\u2019 and \u2018Default\u2019<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Header Image<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 Add a header image either by selecting from the suggestions or you can add an image of your own by clicking on\u00a0\u2018Add new image\u2019<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Widgets<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 Add widgets to your site from here.<\/p>\n

When you click on the arrow mark the following image appears.<\/p>\n

Static Front<\/span>\u00a0\u2212 Select either latest posts or static front page for your site.<\/p>\n
