In this chapter, we will study how to use plugins in your WordPress site. Plugin allows to easily modify, customize or enhance WordPress blog or post. The WordPress Plugin is a software that can be uploaded to expand the functionality of the site. They add services or features to WordPress blog. Plugins are used to make your work easier. Following are the simple steps to add plugins.<\/p>\n

Step (1)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 On the left side bar, Click on\u00a0Plugins \u2192 Installed Plugins<\/strong>\u00a0as shown in the screen.<\/p>\n

Step (2)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 The following page appears.<\/p>\n

In this section, you can view the already installed plugins.<\/p>\n

Step (3)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Click on \u2192\u00a0Plugins \u2192 Add New<\/strong>\u00a0menu as shown in the following screen.<\/p>\n

Step (4)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 A list of plugins appears that are used in WordPress. Here you can directly install plugins from the available list or you can upload it by clicking on\u00a0Upload Plugin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When you click on Upload Plugin you’ll get the following page.<\/p>\n

Click on\u00a0Choose File<\/strong>, you can add files from your system. Otherwise, you can directly choose the plugin that you need and click on\u00a0Install now<\/strong>\u00a0as seen in the following screenshot.<\/p>\n

When you click on Install Now, the package starts to download and gets installed. Then, click on\u00a0Activate plugin<\/strong>\u00a0to active that plugin to use in WordPress as seen in the following screen.<\/p>\n

After clicking on Activate Plugin you’ll get a message as\u00a0Plugin activated<\/em>\u00a0and you can also find the installed plugin in the list.<\/p>\n

Below the\u00a0plugin activated<\/em>\u00a0message, you can view few options such as\u00a0All, Active, Inactive<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Update available<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When you click on\u00a0Active<\/strong>\u00a0the following page appears. Here you can view all the activated plugins.<\/p>\n

When we click on\u00a0Inactive<\/strong>, the plugins which are available but are not activated gets displayed. You can activate this plugin by clicking on\u00a0Activate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When you click on\u00a0Update available<\/strong>, you’ll get a list of plugins that must be updated. Click on\u00a0Update<\/strong>\u00a0and you get a message as\u00a0Updated<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Click on\u00a0Bulk Actions<\/strong>\u00a0and select any of the options. Click on\u00a0Apply<\/strong>\u00a0button to\u00a0update, delete, activate<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0deactivate<\/strong>\u00a0each of the plugins by checking the boxes.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Search Installed Plugins<\/strong>\u00a0you can just type your plugin name in the text box that is already installed and click on the\u00a0Search Installed Plugins<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

When you click on the\u00a0Search installed Plugin<\/strong>\u00a0button you get the following page with your respective plugin.<\/p>\n

Step (5)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 Click on\u00a0Plugins \u2192 Editor<\/strong>\u00a0from the side bar.<\/p>\n

Step (6)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2212 The following page gets displayed.<\/p>\n

This page lets you edit your plugins. A few options are explained.<\/p>\n
