How to create an FTP account in cPanel

FTP accounts help you upload, edit, and manage website files securely when file manager is not enough.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Open FTP Accounts.
  3. Enter the username and choose the domain.
  4. Set the directory the account can access.
  5. Create the account and use the server details in your FTP client.

Use strong passwords and remove unused FTP accounts when they are no longer needed.
